Outside Guides are volunteer community leaders who host outings and support local families near them in getting outside. In addition to the ability to add outings to the OutGrown event calendar, Outside Guides can make entries into the Family Trail Guide, sharing their favorite places to explore with little ones. Anyone can become an Outside Guide, all you need to do is complete our free training (it’s quick and easy, we promise!). Once you have an Outside Guide membership, you choose how frequently you want to host outings and make entries into the Family Trail Guide for your local community. It's a great way to make connections and contribute while being flexible to your needs and interests.
National volunteers work on special projects, help us bring programs to new communities, serve on committees, and tackle behind the scenes work that supports the organization. Writing thank you notes, helping with a communications strategy, connecting with local partners, writing blogs, supporting our members, or stepping onto our finance committee are just a few examples of ways national volunteers offer their support. If you are interested in offering your skills and talents to support OutGrown, please reach out!
Our board is volunteer run. Board members drive our strategy to help us meet our mission, govern the organization, and help us stay fiscally responsible. If you are interested in learning more about being a board member or joining our advisory board, click below.
