1. PLACES / VISITOR CENTER LOOP TRAIL
The Visitor Center Loop Trail is a 1.4 mile loop trail that starts from the Visitor Center in Mission Trails Regional Park. The trail doesn’t have much shade and can get very hot in summer months. Though the trail is considered easy, there is a large hill that may be too much for small feet. Leashed friendly dogs are welcome. Park in the free Visitor Center parking lot. From there, walk toward the main road. You will see the trailhead to your left. Continue on the loop until you make it back to the parking lot. Roughly halfway you will find a very large oak tree that is perfect for climbing on and resting under the shade. If you want to make your hike longer, you can follow the signs to add a visit to the Grinding Rocks. Make sure to visit the Visitor Center after your hike, which has bathrooms, air conditioning, educational displays, a gift shop, and activities for kids!
