1. PLACES / TOM MCCALL PRESERVE
This breathtaking trail provides views of the Columbia Gorge, Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, and incredible wildflowers (April-June).  The trail begins across the road from the Rowena Plateau viewpoint. It begins with a mild stroll along the plateau edge before becoming an old wagon road which will begin a steady climb to McCall Point.  After approximately a half mile, you’ll come to a sign for Tom McCall Point Trail which will lead you off the wagon road and uphill to the viewpoint. Wildflower viewing includes balsamroot, lupine, buckwheat, and red paintbrush. Ecologists monitor the blooms and lead informational hikes.
