1. PLACES / TICKLE CREEK TRAIL
The Tickle Creek Trail is 1.8 miles one way (3.6 miles round trip) of wooded, scenic trail in Sandy. It follows the creek and goes over a total of 5 bridges. There are two technical trailheads but the trail can be accessed from many neighborhoods. A great starting point is to park in the neighborhood of Yocum Loop and Dubarko Road, just down the street from the Sandy Fred Meyer. The crushed gravel surface is designed for bikes, wheelchairs and strollers. Dogs are welcome too; city law requires them to be on a leash, and for owners to clean up after them. Toddlers love this trail because it’s flat, wide, has lots of water access points and bridges to run over. There is a playground about halfway through the trail. There are some roads to cross so make sure you watch out for cars when you get to the road. A great trail even in the rain. Bridges can be slick when wet.
