This trail runs along the shoreline of Lewisville Lake and is great for hiking, strollers, and bikes. It is a mix of natural surface trail and paved trial. There are maps along the way as well as parks with both picnic benches and seating along the way. Trailheads have detailed maps of the trails, as well as bike tool stands, and you may find informational signs on the trails pointing out local wildlife you may see along the trail. You should bring water as there are no public fountains.
Designed as an environmentally sensitive hike-and-bike trail, The Colony Shoreline Trail traverses through 3.5 miles of undisturbed nature, starting at Stewart Creek Park and ending at Ridgepointe Park. The trail materials and routes were carefully selected to diminish their impact on the surrounding natural environment – minimizing disturbance to the native vegetation, protecting large trees and wildlife habitat areas.

Lots of local wildlife along this natural trail. You may see bobcats, coyotes, birds, and ducks. There’s a duck pond between the Shoreline trail head and Ridgepointe Park trail head. Ridgepointe park trail head has a great playground nearby. You can walk into Shoreline park and find campsites, fishing, a large playground and a beach. It costs to drive into Shoreline park, but the trail head parking before the booth is free.
