1. PLACES / SCOUTER'S MOUNTAIN NATURE PARK
Enjoy views of the surrounding valley and, in the distance, Mount Hood. Eat a picnic in the huge shelter. Also a great place to do a short hike on a rainy day because you can spend time in the shelter playing. Walk through a forest with trees more than a century old, including some that have grown here for 220 years. The trail through the forest is about a mile long. A quarter-mile loop at the top of the hill is wheelchair accessible. Explore throughout the year for different highlights: trillium and wood violets in the spring, dazzling views during summer, mushrooms in the fall, Pacific wren calls when winter arrives.
