1. PLACES / RED RUN STREAM VALLEY PAVED TRAIL
This write up is for just the paved section of the Red Run Stream Valley Trail. There are offshoots which are unpaved and you can connect to the back of the Choate Trail by foot. This trail is PERFECT for scooters, bike riders, strollers and balance bikes. It’s also great by foot and can be more comfortable in the summer due to the amount of shade canopy. From the trailhead parking lot head downhill (the steepest of the whole trail) until you reach a bridge crossing the Red Run itself. Follow this paved path up a short hill where you’ll be physically enveloped in wonderful shade (when there’s leaves on the trees!). The pathway continues until it seems to end….but that is just for you to cross over another bridge on your left and follow the paved path another quarter mile. In that time you’ll pass underneath Dolfield Rd. When the pavement ends turn back and retrace your steps. There are two paved side paths that act as side trails. They take you closer to the stream and change elevation a bit from the main trail.     * if you’re wandering on foot, you can continue at the end of the pavement to connect to Soldiers Delight. Check out those trails in this guide. Otherwise, there’s an additional foot trail by the first bridge. This takes you further downstream along the Red Run backing up to more town homes and pops out on Lakeside Blvd. There are a few wooden raised bridges, but they don’t offer much additional contact with the stream.
