1. PLACES / RED REEF TRAIL
Red Reef Trail, known by locals as “Red Cliff Trail”, is a short out and back that’s an excellent introduction to all the beauty of Utah. It’s a slot canyon that’s doable by little ones with easy climbs up sandy manmade steps and descends into a canyon that has a creek running part of the year. What you will love about this trail is how many kid-friendly climbs there are through rocks, over tree stumps and through creek beds. The final part of the hike is up a little rock wall with a rope. This might be a little scary for some and definitely a climb you want to do with your little one on your back. See the images to get a perspective of it. Even if you don’t make the final waterfall climb, this canyon does not disappoint and has fun surprises around every bend.

Helpful Trail Information

Creek / River, Natural Play Area, Viewpoint, and Waterfall There are so many places to stop on this trail! Make sure to check out the “elephant tree”, which is an old dead tree that looks like an elephant’s head. Also, there are many rock caves to hike through and little ledges to climb on. The final part of the hike has an awesome waterfall to climb (it’s dry for part of the year) so make sure to check that out.
