1. PLACES / PANORAMA
A nice mellow meandering trail that winds it’s way through the forest of ferns, aspen trees, and wildflowers. This trail isn’t flat, but the grade is gentle and the panoramic views halfway into the hike are absolutely worth the effort! From the Dry Lake parking lot, this easy-going trail splits off from Spring Creek a few feet from the road. The wide tread, gentle switchbacks, and relaxed grade make climbing to the viewpoint a breeze. Enjoy—you guessed it—panoramic views of the Yampa River Valley, Flattop Mountains, and Continental Divide before descending an equally mellow portion of trail.   Submitted by Valerie W., Tales of a Mountain Mama (blog) team member
