1. PLACES / OVERTON TRAIL LOOP
This trail is rated moderate, but has a gradual elevation change so is good for hikers with bigger kids or those looking for more of a workout and carrying little ones. You can take it clockwise for a more gradual incline and reward the kids with a stop at the playground at the end. There are benches every mile or so and a lovely view near the halfway point at the top. This trail does connect with Go John and a few other trails. The Nature Center is a must-see. There are souvenirs, snacks, and books for sale. They also have a live reptile exhibit which houses the largest captive diamondback rattlesnake in the area. Kids can also enjoy seeing a small natural history exhibit that showcases some artifacts from the area.
