1. PLACES / IRVINE REGIONAL PARK
Irvine Regional Park has a lot to offer, from stroller walks, park and plays, hiking along dirt trails, pony or horseback riding, and more! They are well known for their seasonal events, such as their Spring Fling, fall pumpkin patch, and Holiday train. This park is also home to the Orange County Zoo, which has only local Southern Californian animals (including large predators such as coyotes, black bears, and mountain lions). For a 1.5 mile easy loop, start at the Irvine Park Railroad station and follow the paved trail towards the Zoo. At the end of the paved trail, the trees will open up to a dirt fire road, which leads you to the large rock formation called Rooster Rock. From there, continue on the fire road or head up the hill to a nice overlook of the park. You can head down the stairs at the overlook, or if you are using a stroller, continue along the trail until it goes downhill again past the horse stables. This will loop right back to the railroad station. http://www.ocparks.com/parks/irvine/
