1. PLACES / OCEAN PATH
This hike takes you along Acadia’s pink-granite coastline to Otter Point. Otter Point is a spot where people like to watch the sunset. Ocean Path trailhead is right before the stairs to Sand Beach. Half way along the path you will come to Thunder Hole. There is a side path to take you down stairs to a viewing area.  This is known for the thunderous roar when the surf crashes through rocky chasms. Be careful visiting Thunder Hole during stormy weather, visitors have been swept out to see here. So watch for large waves and stay a safe distance. Before Otter Point, you will come across Otter Cliff. Here you may get to see rock climbers scaling the side. This is a graded gravel path and forest floor trail that is relatively easy. You can go the full distance or turn around at any point. It is often a busy trail during tourist season. The best times to walk are very early or late during this time.
