Neutaconkanut Hill Park Loop

This trail is truly a hidden gem in Providence, it is the last wild forest area and highest point in the city! Starting in the parking lot, take the paved path along the ball fields to the red Pond Trail behind the skate park. Stay to the left and you will come to the Great Stairs, when you reach the fork at the top of the stairs, go left on the blue Dropoff Trail and and left again when you reach the orange Pinnacle Trail. This will lead you to the Pinnacles, which brings you a lookout point featuring large jagged rocks that had huge spiritual significance to the Native Americans. Continue on the trail, just past the 3 old Camaros and go left on the Monument Loop Trail over a small bridge and gentle stream. This will bring you to a flat, even section of trail, over a couple small foot bridges to the Orange Trail which leads out to the Meadow and overlooks the City. This is beautiful location for a break, picnic, and some exploration. Wild flowers are abundant in the spring and summer seasons. At the overlook, continue straight down the short rocky path, and go left onto the paved road then back down to the parking lot and recreation area. Dogs are also welcome to use this trail.
