This river park is a beautiful day-use facility with various individual picnic sites, a group picnic area (non-reservable), a paved bike path, hiking trails and Truckee River fishing access. Bird watching, hiking, bike riding, river tubing and picnicking are popular activities. Handicap-accessible, this park is located just four miles west of Reno, at the end of Woodland Avenue. Mayberry Park is home to a wide variety of plant and animal species.

There are picnic tables along the route, shallow areas to wade into the river, lots of shaded areas, and plenty of parking. There are a couple of portapotties but no access to drinking water.

Sun protection, water shoes (in warm seasons), strollers/joggers for the paved trail, carriers for going off the paved trail, bikes/scooters.

What baby or child hazards are there on this hike?

Fast-moving river, sun exposure, snakes on hot days, fast-moving bicyclists on the paved trail.
