1. PLACES / LOST BEACH TRAIL
The Lost Beach Trail takes us on a journey of what could have been. Sand Ridge and Lost Beach is a remnant of an ancient glacial lake shoreline. The trail begins with a meandering boardwalk through the marsh before the trail turns into a mixed trail of grass and gravel. The views are serene with ample tree cover and flowers blooming throughout the area. It’s perfect for getting toddlers introduced to hiking with no overall elevation gain. Along the 1.4-mile trail, are wooden benches that are vital to feeding young babies their milk source of choice. Between the trailhead and the Sand Ridge Nature Center are areas for picnicking and nature play where children can roam free and play in the dirt without disturbing the natural elements.
