1. PLACES / LITTLE SYCAMORE CANYON - LAGUNA COAST WILDERNESS
Little Sycamore Canyon is a gorgeous example of what Laguna Coast Wilderness has to offer. Starting at the Nix Nature Center, inside the building there are interactive exhibits. The beginning of the trail also has signs information about local plants and animals. It starts to climb uphill from here, with occasional bridges. Across the small valley there are interesting rock formations/ colors to look at. Near the top of the trail it becomes rockier and more challenging. The ridgeline makes a great place to take a break and enjoy the views, as well as allow the kids time to play in the dirt! Return the way you came, or add another 3 miles by making a loop (head south along the ridgeline, then turn left at the first trail turnoff and follow the trail counterclockwise to end on a downhill towards the parking lot and Nature Center).
