1. PLACES / LEBANON VALLEY RAIL TRAIL- MT.GRENTA SPUR TRAILHEAD
The Lebanon Valley Rail Trail is a flat paved or packed gravel trail suitable for all strollers, early walkers, toddlers, and other explorers. The Mt. Gretna Trailhead has a small amount of parking in the Timbers neighborhood, just behind Mt. Gretna Pizzeria. This section is heavily wooded. At the Mt. Gretna Spur area there are some historic structures and information about the train station structure ruins from the turn of the century. This section is heavily wooded, but is a “shared use trail”–meaning that it serves as the drive way for about 5 residences off the trial. It is usually not busy and the drivers are quite aware that the trial is used by bikers, runners, horseback riders, and hikers. To the west it is approximately 2.5 miles to the next trailhead, Colebrook. This section is heavily wooded. To the east it is approximately 3 miles to the next trailhead, Alden Place.  There is a small parking lot near the road crossing at Butler road, but we have not listed this as a trailhead. This is about 1 mile from the Mt. Grena Spur Trail.
