1. PLACES / HOMESTEAD TO RIM ROCK TO CREEK BOTTOM LOOP
This 4.6 mile loop is found in the West side of Castlewood Canyon State Park. It begins at the Homestead trail where there are a variety of educational information about the historic Lucas homestead and ranch, and then once you walk over the bridge you begin to climb up on the Rim Rock trail.  This portion does have the most elevation gain and this portion of the hike is exposed, but offers great views of the canyon.  Once you descend you will hike along the Creek Bottom trail that runs along a creek and offers some shade, and passes the Castlewood Dam ruins. Dogs are allowed, but must be leashed.  This trail is not stroller or wheelchair friendly.
