1. PLACES / G. ELDON MARSHALL TRAIL (WATERSHED PARK)
The G. Eldon Marshall trail loops through Watershed Park, a temperate rainforest and wetland right in the middle of town. The trail is a combination of dirt path and wooden boardwalks and bridges that elevate the trail over wetland areas. In the heart of the woods is a spring which is the source of Moxlie creek and creates the wetland area all around the trail. Moxlie Creek flows through the park and parallels and crosses the trail at a few points. This hike leads you under towering trees with moss-covered branches, past native understory plants, and over the meandering creek. There are a few steep spots on the trail, but overall it is fairly easy for children to hike.
