1. PLACES / FORT FOOTE PARK
Fort Foote was constructed in 1863 atop Rozier's Bluff to strengthen the ring of fortifications that encircled Washington, D.C. Two of the Guns that protected Washington are still there along with the remains of the fort's earthworks.

Helpful Trail Information

There are some parts of the trail that may be difficult to navigate and require navigating rock steps. This trail is doable with small children, however they will likely need help navigating some parts of the trail and a carrier might be useful. This trail is no appropriate for wheels.

What baby or child hazards are there on this hike?

There are places along the trail where there is a steep drop off on one side of the trail, however, there is enough space to continue to walk side by side as long you are mindful of that side. The trail ends at the Potomac River.
