1. PLACES / DR. ROD COLER AUDUBON NATURE TRAIL
Located within Columbia Park and the Lower Columbia Basin Audubon Society Natural Area, this is the perfect little hike and exploration opportunity for little feet. There are three small loops that total less than a mile, a pond, overlook platform, boardwalk and signage to learn more about the region. There’s also opportunities for plant and wildlife identification and benches to sit down. The trail is paved, but the pavement is heavily damaged in some areas due to tree roots and heat. Walking and carriers would be best to hike this trail until improvements are made. An all-terrain stroller or wheelchair may be possible with assistance. After you’re done with your hike, there is a playground nearby to check out and of course the beautiful Columbia River! There are restrooms located in Columbia Park, but a decent distance from this trail. Some of the restrooms are closed seasonally.
