1. PLACES / CONKLE'S HOLLOW
Conkle’s Hollow is a beautiful preserve within Hocking Hills State Park. It boasts the highest cliffs in the area, with a narrow gorge full of  ferns, wild flowers and towering Hemlock trees. The gorge trail is an easy paved 1/4mile trail, while a small foot path extends passed the pavement to view the small falls that helped create the gorge. A 1/2 rim trail can also be accessed for the more advanced hikers as it traverses along the steep cliffs of the gorge.

Creek / River, Picnic Area, Viewpoint, Waterfall, and Wildlife Viewing Conkle’s Hollow was named for W.J. Conkle who left his name and the date 1797 carved into the sandstone on the west wall of the gorge. There is a fun history story of treasure hidden within the hollow.
