Clear Creek Trail is an urban trail system leading through town from Silverdale Waterfront Park along the northern shores of Dyes Inlet and follows the Clear Creek through riparian areas, wetlands, and remnant forest to Trigger Avenue. Much of the trail consists of hard packed gravel with boardwalks over the wetlands and bridges over the creek.
This is a family friendly trail system providing many options on routes to accommodate walking, running, strollers, and bicycles. For a stroller-friendly portion of the trail, we recommend starting at the parking lot of Silverdale’s Gateway Park. Heading to the right at the trail sign, you will follow a road that leads through a neighborhood for a short ways before seeing another trail sign on the left that leads you into the wetlands. You will follow the boardwalks (staying to the right at trail junctions) as you search for birds and other critters in the wetlands. The trail then opens out to a field where you can spot garter snakes, small rodents, birds, and other creatures. You will also find blackberry bushes that ripen in late summer for an impromptu trail snack. Once the trail opens to a paved portion, head to the left and follow the paved path that includes multiple bridges to peer down over the creek. Stay to the left as you loop back to the parking lot. This trail can also be completed in reverse.

Bikes do well on this trail along with most strollers (although a jogging/all-terrain stroller would be best). There are various side-trails that loop through this portion of the trail system, some of which have tons of blackberry bushes that ripen in late summer. Dogs are allowed on a leash, and there is a dog park that shares the parking lot for your pets to let loose.
