1. PLACES / CHILDREN'S FOREST AT THE KILN
Located just outside of the old mining town of Leeds, this trail can be found off of FR032 on the west side of the I-15. The trail is a short, toddler friendly, well groomed path that goes from a parking lot to an old coal smelting kiln from the late 1800s. This historic building looks like a rock beehive and is easy to reach with little legs, however, don’t expect to use a stroller because there are some up and downs and a bridge to cross. This is more of a hiking trail. Bring a picnic and enjoy lunch under a shady tree. To find the trail take the Oak Grove Road toward Yant Flats out of town. This will turn into FR032. At a Y, take the right and keep going along on FR032. Once you cross over Leeds Creek, look for the parking lot on the right.
