1. PLACES / CAPTAIN WILLIAM CLARK PARK AND TRAIL
This park was opened during the bicentennial celebration of Lewis & Clark stopping here at Cottonwood Beach to collect provisions for their trip East along the Columbia River Gorge. The large park parallels the Columbia River and connects to Gibbons Creek Wildlife Art Trail. Steamboat landing, at the end of the trail, offers opportunities for fishing. This multi-use trail is excellent for biking and also allows equine access. Dogs are welcome on this trail but not allowed in the Wildlife Refuge.
