1. PLACES / CANDY MOUNTAIN SUMMIT TRAIL
If your family feels like doing a hike a little more challenging than the Candy Mountain Interpretive Loop, this one is perfect! You can choose to go either left or right when the trail forks, both will lead to the summit. Take the route you didn’t choose on the way up, on the way back to see something new. Both sides of the trail are part of the interpretive loop and have different plants identified. There are a few switchbacks for a pretty gradual incline up the mountain. Children walking themselves or in a carrier would work best. The trail is gravel, which might make a stroller difficult in combination with the incline. There is a port-0-potty in the parking lot to use. There are sometimes mountain bikes on this trail. Dogs must be leashed.
