1. PLACES / BURNEY’S TRAIL
The trail is short and relatively easy, it does have a moderately steep section near its end. This trail passes through aspen and spruce forest, and ends at a highpoint of 500 feet. SCENIC VIEWS: At the end of Burney’s Trail are views of Hidden Lake, Skilak Lake, and the Kenai Mountains. OTHER ACTIVITIES: Wildflowers are found in profusion along the trail during the summer, and some berry picking is possible for low and high bush cranberries in season. Look for animal sign along the trail, and carry binoculars for birding. WINTER ACTIVITIES: This trail provides snowshoeing opportunities during winters with sufficient snow cover.
