1. PLACES / BULLINGTON GARDENS
Bullington Gardens is a beautiful place to explore. Their mission is to connect children and adults with the natural world through science-based horticultural education; to demonstrate the beauty and value of native and ornamental plants through themed public gardens; and to enhance life skills for children and adults with physical or mental challenges through horticultural therapy. There are many different gardens including a therapy garden, herb garden, nature trail, and seasonal fairy garden! The fairy garden is definitely a highlight for kids with dozens of themed displays and doors to see what’s hiding behind. It is open each year roughly June through August, but double check their website before visiting. The Nature trail takes you down to a creek and along the way has a beautiful amphitheater and natural area filled with sticks for kids to create and build with. There are many intersecting trails, the longest one is a bit steep on the way back but still doable for kids. You can also buy plants here and attend their craft events. It is free to enter the gardens, though donations are welcome. To learn more, visit their website. https://bullingtongardens.org/
