1. PLACES / AVALANCHE LAKE
This is a great little trail for a family hike while Glacier National Park. You start out walking thru big cedar trees and at the end you reach a quiet glacier fee lake with Crystal clear water and a real color. 4.5 miles round-trip with some ups and downs. Overall a great quiet hike in glacier! The elevation gain is around 730 feet. Overall the trail is good and is appropriate for beginner to intermediate hikers. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or in advanced hiker. This hike is a big pay off. You will have to pinch yourself when looking at the lake and the waterfalls. The trail is shade covered for the majority of the trip and is a very comfortable hike. Get to the parking lot early before 8 AM. Or show up later in the afternoon (2pm on) to catch open spots in the parking lot.   Submitted by Kady Saari
