With boardwalks, a suspension bridge, stairs, and a creek, this trail is so fun for kids! It’s located in Pisgah National Forest near the Visitor Center. It is a 0.7 mile long loop with gentile hills and stairs to climb, making it easy enough for even the youngest kids to walk on their own. Afterward make sure you visit the Visitor Center which has interactive and educational displays for kids.
The trailhead starts in the parking lot across from the Visitors Center. It is easiest to find the trailhead on the right which goes counter clockwise, which is pictured below. If you take the trail clockwise you will reach a fork, follow the signs for the Andy Cove trail and go right.
There are bathrooms located at the Visitor Center. Cell service is very hard to find out there, so plan accordingly. Leashed dogs are welcome.
