1. PLACES / WINTERGREEN FALLS
Though it’s not a large waterfall, Wintergreen Falls is a lovely secluded spot in a lesser-known area of DuPont State Forest. Start from the Guion Farm Access Area.  The trail starts on a dirt road that crosses a grassy meadow before entering the forest.  After about a mile, you will come to an intersection, with the Wintergreen Falls trail forking to the left.  After another 1/2 mile or so, you will reach the falls.  There is a large boulder to climb over in order to reach the best viewpoint of the falls.  Once you’re there, take in the falls from a nice shady spot, with plenty of room for little ones to explore around. The trail is relatively flat the whole way, but it is a gradual downhill toward the falls, making it uphill on the way back.  This is a great first hike for little walkers who are starting to get stronger (age 3-4).
