1. PLACES / WHITE RIVER WOODS
This ~2/3 mile trail winds through the forest and sometimes wetland (after a heavy rain). The narrow trail is flat and usually suitable for young children, and is entirely beneath tree canopy. Explore the forest and wildlife! Nice hike in all seasons: the trees make it cool in the summer, colorful in fall, winter is very still and quiet, and spring is noisy and active, alive with wildflowers and birds. Huge variety of insects to discover.   Submitted by: Kim McKenzie
