The Western North Carolina Nature Center is half zoo, half natural play areas for kids, and 100% the perfect place to let your kids explore, play, and learn! The Nature Center’s main focus is to connect people of all ages with the plants and animals of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. There you will see 60 species including black bears, wolves, coyotes, otters, bobcats, red pandas, goats, cougars, foxes, skunks, birds, reptiles, and much more! They also have half a dozen natural play areas around the center including arachnid adventure (giant rope jungle gyms), fort building, music station, puppet show house, large metal slide, and more.
