1. PLACES / WEST CINDER KNOLL TRAIL
This is a short, easy to access loop in the back of Hurricane. It takes minutes to reach from State Street. What we love about this trail is the deep reddish brown lava stone on the trail, then there’s a quick steep uphill, which takes you to breathtaking views. You can stay low and hike in the flats or travel up on to the cindercone and look into the old volcano. Another great aspect to this trail is that it’s super pet friendly. Dogs should be on leash or good at staying under voice control. Please bring poop bags! The landscape is lovely and very clean so it would be nice to keep it that way.
