1. PLACES / VETERANS PARK MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL
Despite the name of the trail, this is a multi-use trail. It just happened to be built to the standards of the International Mountain Biking Society for beginners and intermediate riders. This trail is 3.5 miles long, but has a shorter route that can be taken. It’s a nice packed dirt trail with some loose spots and logs and rocks for the more experienced mountain bikers. This is a really nice shaded trail that loops through the park. It does go close to the stream near Veterans Elementary School. Because it’s a multi-use trail, when hiking with little ones, be prepared to be able to move them quickly to the side if a biker comes through. (they are supposed to notify you they are coming through – but they don’t always). When hiking it during the week and during the day, there aren’t normally any bikers are the trail. Weekends has a lot more utilizing it.
