1. PLACES / TROUT LILY TRAIL
Partially paved from the nature center then changes to compacted rock and sand about halfway. Easily accessible by off road strollers. Follow the paved trail to a shot boardwalk section over a swamp with turtles! Halfway to the Sunset Overlook Wildlife Viewing Deck is a “bird in hand” feeder. Rangers have trained birds to eat birdseed out of a small child mannequin’s hand. You can pick up film canisters of seed from the Nature Center or grab some out of the feeder at the location and follow the instructions on the posted signage to have birds fly up and eat right out of your hand! Continue along to reach the elevated platform with binoculars where you can stop and have a nice picnic lunch or just return back to the nature center along the same path.
