1. PLACES / THATCHER WOODS RED PAVED TRAIL
The Red Paved Trail in Thatcher Woods Cook County Forest Preserves is a fully shaded, short walk alongside and leading up to the Trailside Museum of Natural History. This hike is fully paved with an extra wide sidewalk to allow access for multiple users in a variety of methods (wheelchair, bike, stroller). It is short and sweet and acts as the beginning of two other rugged (unpaved) yet family-friendly hiking trails in the area. You will hear many songbirds and see beautiful flora along this trail that is perfect for budding hikers.
