1. PLACES / SMITH WOODS
Hands down our favorite park in this area. There are several different trails starting the Smiths Woods area and even more in the greater Smithville park area. By the parking lot there are bathrooms (open year round) a large pavilion and butterfly garden. From the parking lot you can walk down the yellow trail which will eventually connect to the other park areas. As you walk into the park there are more picnic areas and a playground. Past the playground you can take the red trail down to Rancocas creek (the floating bridge is currently closed making this an out and back instead of a loop unless you want to walk back up the road a bit and then return on the yellow trail. From the top of the red trail you can do the white trail. This is a smaller trail that winds through the woods and then connects back to the red trail. When open the red trail is about 2.5 miles. The white loop is about 1 mile and down and back the yellow trail without crossing the street is around 2 miles.
