1. PLACES / SIMPSON- REED TRAIL LOOP
This short, mild trail leads through lush ancient coastal redwoods. Fallen trees give life to ferns, redwood sorrel (resembles clover), hemlock and huckleberries. The trail loops a grove near the Smith River. Although located close to US-199, the dense forest helps to dampen the traffic noise and helps to give an enchanted feeling.  To stay along the loop, turn right at each intersection.
