1. PLACES / ROCKS STATE PARK - KING AND QUEEN: ORANGE/WHITE AND RED
Rocks State Park’s infamous King and Queen seat are breathtaking year round and this hike is the best one for the end view. Park along Chrome Hill Road and follow the orange/white blazes uphill. This is by far the best hike for littles to try as it’s only 1.5 miles total and it has such a gradual uphill with lots of rocks to to take breaks (or leaps). Follow this wooded pathway uphill until you are greeted by gorgeous views. Make sure to hold onto all ages and enjoy the view up close or from afar. If the kids have energy, walk up the red blaze 1/2 a mile to the GORGEOUS covered pavilion and play at the swings or the nature playground (this added one mile round trip is included in mileage total if not then total trip is 1.5 miles).
