1. PLACES / ROCK ISLAND TRAIL
The Rock Island trail is a 6 mile mostly paved path that is good for biking, walking, or running.  All-terrain, jogging, and 4 wheeled strollers could use this path.  There are street crossings, so be aware and cautious of little bikers in these areas.  The trail runs along Constitution Avenue from east to west or visa versa. To access the Rock Island trail from the east, go to the N Weber Street and Lilac Street intersection, this is also where Shooks Run Trail connects.  From the west side, go to the Constitution Court and N Powers Boulevard intersection.  If you need a playground or snack stop, there is one at Jefferson Park. The trail connects to other trails: the Pikes Peak Greenway, the Shooks Run Trail, and the Homestead Trail, so you can go for as long or short as you would like. This trail doesn’t have a lot of shade, so be sure to bring layers and sun protection.
