1. PLACES / ROCK ISLAND REGIONAL TRAIL
The 10.5 mile Rock Island Regional Trail runs parallel to Highway 24 between Falcon and Peyton. It is a very wide, flat gravel trail that is very stroller and bike accessible. You can often find walkers, runners, bikers and horses sharing the path! Park benches are scattered throughout the trail to showcase the excellent views of several landmarks are visible from the trail including Pikes Peak, Rampart Range, Rattlesnake Buttes at Homestead Ranch Regional Park, Spanish Peaks, West Mountains, and the Sange de Cristo Mountain Range. At the start of the trail there is an open grassy area with picnic tables, trash cans and paved parking. The trail is an out & back route that passes along several bridges, 1 community park, 1 community open space and a library.
