This trail is a lollipop route with approximately 9-miles of single-track trail. Although it may be long for little ones, this trail is certainly fun to do with a kids carrier. It has lots of shady spots and safe view points to let little ones down from their carriers to stretch. This trail is mountain bike friendly but due to the narrowness of the trail strollers are not recommended. The site straddles the Palmer Divide in the Black Forest and is characterized by gentle rolling terrain, covered by ponderosa pine forests, grassland meadows, wetlands, dotted with small ponds with abundant wildlife, including elk, white tail deer, raptors, and turkeys. There are trash cans and bathrooms available in the large gravel parking lot at the trailhead.
