1. PLACES / PETER F. SCHABARUM REGIONAL PARK LOOP
The Schabarum Loop trail is an excellent option if you like to see other people along the trail and offers a great preview of what Hacienda foothills offer. The trail starts in the neighborhood, near the sports field. Follow the blocked off road to the entrance of the dirt trail (just before the road dead ends into the main park road). This section of dirt trail follows rolling hills through trees and fields until you reach the horse stables. Cross the parking lot and pick up the trail again at the edge of the trees. Continue clockwise, going uphill to a viewpoint of the mountains. The trail will then descend downhill to a playground. Continue east across the grass back to where the sports fields begin.
