1. PLACES / PEÑASQUITOS CANYON: PEÑASQUITOS CREEK PARK TO CARSON'S CROSSING
Peñasquitos Creek Park to Carson’s Crossing is a 2 mile round trip hike. The trail is on a  flat fire road so off road strollers are able to use this trail. The creek crossing had a pretty bridge and tree cover, so it is a great place to rest, let the kids run around, and eat a snack. The trailhead is off Camino Del Sur on the opposite side of the park. Go through the gate and down the hill. You will see a small single track trail off to your right, ignore it and keep going straight. At the bottom of the hill this trail will meet up with another coming from your left. Follow the bend and keep going right along the fire road. Along your hike you will pass many trail intersections, ignore them and keep going straight. Eventually you will reach a larger four way intersection with a sign saying Carson’s Crossing. Turn left here. A little ways down the trail will fork, keep left and head into the trees. There you will see a large open space shaded by trees and a large bridge, which is Carson’s Crossing! Once you are rested and ready to go home, head back the way you came. Restrooms: There is a porta potty in Penasquitos Creek Park, right across the street from the trailhead.
