1. PLACES / PARADISE VALLEY CONSERVATION AREA
This 793 acre park is perfect for whatever type of hike you’re looking for. The trees and ferns make for a beautiful walk through lush vegetation. Toddlers do well walking the .25 mile Whispering Fir Trail, and you can combine that with Cascara and Mainline trails for a lengthier hike for older kids. Hike all the perimeter trails for a good sampling of the area in a 6 mile loop. Make sure to download a trail map before venturing out for the first time. Although the trails are well-marked, it is not uncommon to take a wrong turn and accrue more mileage than initially planned.
