1. PLACES / OXBOW NATURE STUDY AREA
Located along the Truckee River, this is a little oasis in the city where you can observe local wildlife and enjoy a trail with plenty of shade and a variety of plant life! It's a beautiful area in all four seasons. There is a fenced deck to observe the duck pond as well as an upper observation deck! The trail loops in several spots, allowing for longer or shorter hikes depending on the needs of the hikers.

Helpful Trail Information

It can be stroller accessible with assistance from other hikers in certain spots, there are narrow wooden bridges over water in a few spots and depending on the weather it can get very muddy. The trail is flat but mostly dirt with some gravel. Dogs are not allowed.
