1. PLACES / OAK GROVE LAKE PARK
Oak Grove Lake Park is located in central Chesapeake, off Battlefield Blvd/Volvo Pkwy and easily accessible from Greenbrier, Great Bridge, and I64. The park features a 1.5mi walking trail around a man-made lake, bordered on one side by the 168 bypass. The trail is very smooth and suitable for any and all wheels. Docks along the way offer great spots to view turtles and fish. The trail is good for summertime, as most of it is shaded and the mosquitoes are surprisingly low. A playground at the trailhead gives kids a place to play, as well.  Overall, a great, user-friendly trail. The only drawbacks to this park are the amenities. The parking lot is very small and always fills up on nice days, so be prepared to parallel park. There are no water fountains or plumbed restrooms; however, 3 porta potties by the playground are usually decently clean.
