North Park - White Blazes - South Ridge Loop

This loop in North Park is located in the section of the park near the swimming pool, off of Hemlock Drive.  It takes you up and down some hills, through various types of terrain and vegetation. It’s primarily shaded, though there are a few open patches. Follow the white blazes, keeping in mind that a double blaze indicates a turn. The park maps and the county park app can help you identify any crossings with other trails and keep on your way. The loop begins from the Deer Browse shelter side of S Ridge Dr (on your right when driving in from the pool) and will drop you off on the other side of the road (near Harmar Pavilion – on your left as you entered from the pool.) To find the trailhead, enter the park, and follow signs onto S Ridge Dr towards Pie Traynor field. There is plenty of parking along the road near Harmar Pavilion (on your left) and in the Pie Traynor Parking Lot (on your right). Look for the red-topped Deer Browse shelters on your right as you head to park. The trailhead is straight back into the woods from there (for reference, Pie Traynor fields will be on your left, the parking lot along the pool/large playgrounds on your right). You’ll see the first white blazes as you enter the woods.
