1. PLACES / NEWPORT & SHERMANS VALLEY RAILROAD TRACE
Turn on to Swimming Pool Road and take the first left to head back to the parking lot.  Take the well-traveled path back to the bathrooms and you will find the trailhead. The trail is flat and mostly covered by shade trees.  The park keeps it mowed so you don’t have to worry about trekking through tall grass.  We have taken our off-road stroller on this trail, it can just get a little tricky because of tree roots. We always see lots of birds on this trail, and it is a great trail to check out if you want to do a nature scavenger hunt. Please note: during hunting season be sure to wear orange, as this trail is in a hunting-allowed area.
